“ Some people are dresssd up and others are dressed casually. The turtle soup was like a chili bean soup type thing. It was ok but not something I'd come back for. The empanadas are worth writing g home about if you're thinking about it and you like duck and you like empanadas, you cannot go wrong with this app I was delighted to learn the meatballs, had no pork in them, but they were a little dry inside because of that. The portion was huge. The eggplant appetizer had some kick to it and some seafood, and it was a surprising delight, drenched in cheese if you like either or both of those things do not pass on it. We were actually so full from the apps we skipped the main and had dessert. Pecan pie is deep fried like an Oreo which is a unique twist. Overall dinner was lovely and service was good. ”
“ Service here is outstanding. The wait staff was very attentive. The Sommelier was very helpful and kind. For those reasons alone I would go back. The restaurant has high ceilings and a New York City vibe. However, it is quite noisy and they have a live band so it makes it difficult to talk to everyone at the table. Bar drinks were excellent. Appetizers, we got the meatballs and tuna tartare. The meatballs are quite large and the fellas liked them more than I did. They were smoky flavored and just not my favorite. The tuna was very fresh and I could have made that my meal. A couple of us had the Prime rib which is what they are known for. Very tasty. Not sure I would recommend the Chicken Piccata but the filet was outstanding. I would recommend this spot but not sure it's worthy of a perfect score. ”
“ Gannon's is an Art Deco jewel of a steakhouse nestled in the heart of the city's old financial district, close to but still far enough away from the craziness of lower Broadway and the high prices of the Gulch. It is a lovely setting, where the old lobby and office area of a bank building has been transformed into an intimate, human scale that has a piano bar at the far end. Gannon's has a broad menu but beef is really king. I have had the NY strip with the Olivia sauce (really rich and complements the steak perfectly and the prime rib, a quite generous cut to say the least and cooked perfectly but it needed a kick of flavor or perhaps stronger horseradish sauce. The apps are great, the charcuterie board is really impressed. The typical range of sides, with the charred Brussels Sprouts the best. What sets the place apart is the service, very friendly and knowledgeable. Same for the cocktails, well balanced and not overpriced. The wine list is well curated, and reasonable too. Here is where I place Gannon's a cut above the better known high flying steakhouses of the Gulch. Food, booze, and service are comparable--at a much more reasonable price point. And I have always enjoyed myself and never felt I was in a totally stuffy or nouveau riche setting. ”
“ The food was absolutely amazing, the service from Tony was even better. The ambiance is a thing to marvel at. My only quarrel is ordering a borubon and coke that takes 20 minutes to come out. I could understand if it was busy night. Me and my girlfriend were 2 out of 6 people in the entire restaraunt, I watched the manager/somm sit next to our drinks for a solid 5 minutes just chatting it up with the bartender. I had to preorder drinks to just ensure they came at an appropriate time. ”
“ A great evening with friends where we noshed on several courses and shared our accomplishments of 2024 and goals for 2025. We didn't know Gannons had been recognized as a Top 20 by Yelp but well deserved. The Prime NY Strip seasoned well and cooked to an excellent medium rare was sliced so all could share as well. Great selection of cocktails and wine by the glass -- lots of good selections but uncommon names were a welcome surprise for the evening. I recommend that you put this stop on your list. And there is always live music as well. ”
“ Throwback and you will be surprised once you get through the hotel entrance. Food was delicious and the ambiance was unique. Staff was great and an overall very good experience. Get the truffle fries ! Highly recommended. ”
“ Don't let the fact this restaurant is inside a Courtyard Hotel fool you. It has nothing to do with Courtyard and this is one of the best dining experiences we have had in years...and we live in San Francisco where there is no shortage of great restaurants. Our server was Bennett...who is a tru professional in every sense and stays connected to your table even though he is working several other tables at same time. Bennett sees everything in a non-obtrusive way, like timing your courses based on your pace...and his descriptions of the food were spot on! The rest of the Gannons service team is all very connected while working the room. Quite impressive! The food and cocktails were all excellent. My wife had the empanada and I had the double pork chop. The arugula and roasted butternut squash was amazing as well. Wish Gannons and Bennett could relocate to San Francisco! ”
“ My husband and I went for the 1st time on our anniversary. The service and food were excellent, we received complimentary champagne for the occasion. The lobster bisque was exceptionally great and the steaks are very good. The place was very classy and had live music going, very soft smooth jazz type which was great because you can still have a conversation. They have valet parking. My only suggestion would be to have white table clothes to truly classy it up big time but I totally understand why they don't from a business point of view. ”
“ First time coming here. My husband wanted to try a new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Valet was a bit pricey; however, my husband was able to find street parking near the restaurant that's was inexpensive and a very short walk (he dropped me off at the restaurant so I didn't have to walk ;) ). It's not a large restaurant but the vibe was very demure, very classy (iykyk). Our waiter Max was great, my husband is vegan so he made sure he was accommodated. I ordered the Oyster Rockefeller, which was one of the best I have ever had, very delish. My entree I had the prime rib. It was a little more fatty than I like but it was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered mushrooms and they gave him a choice bt a tomato base pasta or olive oil. He chose the olive oil and it was packed with yummy veggies and artichokes. He really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend and I can't wait to come back! ”
“ This has to be the biggest hidden gem in Nashville. Gannons came up during a random Yelp search I was conducting. I decided to give it a try. My bf and I was seeing a show at TPAC and walked over to Gannons afterwards. Our reservation was for 5:30pm, but they were able to get us in at 5pm. The entire staff was amazing. Our waiter Mark went over and beyond to make sure our visit was amazing. Please ask for him if you go. The main star of our meal was the pork chop with a peach glaze. Just when I thought Urban Grub and Perry's had the best pork chop in town. The pork chop was 20 out of 10. It was prepared perfect with its juices still in tact. The peach glaze was an added bonus. I also enjoyed the cream spinach. How could I forget about the Brie oysters I had as a starter. Please forgive me, talk about a flavor parade. Oysters Rockefeller who, it's all bout the Brie . Overall, this is the perfect date night for an elevated intimate dinner. ”
